Everyone needs to try this! I didn’t know what to expect going into this. I felt safe and comfortable the entire time, very professional shoot, almost forgot I was naked until it was time to get dressed again, the pictures came out beautiful and I really liked that I had the chance to pick then and there which images I liked and didn’t like. This has really helped my confidence. I’ve told all my friends to give it a go! Xx

I’ve done two barely lit shoots now and loved both! It’s a fantastic experience and the photos are amazing! Shepy was great at giving direction which was perfect for the first shoot when I had no idea what to do but for the second I had a few suggestions that he was happy to accommodate.

I had a great time shooting with Shep. It was my first time doing any kind of photoshoot, so I was more nervous about posing than being naked! After admiring Richard’s work for a long time I was over the moon to have been chosen when some slots became free. I was so nervous before doing this to the point I actually felt a bit sick. I’ve struggled with body image since the age of 11, and after knowing a lot of other people who swore blind the magic of these shoots, I knew I wanted to take part as something I owed to myself. I was instantly put at ease from the moment I turned up and made to feel totally comfortable the entire time. I was so impressed on how they instantly knew which filters, angles and positions would work well for me, and the variety that I was given as so many photos were taken. It was so fun that the 45 mins/1 hour completely flew! I’m so glad that I did this, and that my first experience was so positive and comforting. I’ll 1000% be back in the future – thank you for doing what you do for people, you definitely have a gift!

Never in a million years did I ever think I’d sign up for this, let alone do it. But it was an absolutely fantastic experience. I felt so relaxed and none of it felt like I was forcing a pose to create a good image. The images speak for themselves; 100% natural and beautiful, how it should be. I can’t lie, I was nervous as hell leading up to the shoot! As someone who struggles with body dysmorphia, the thought of being butt naked in front of a camera terrified me and I find it really hard not focusing on the flaws. But I was instantly at ease with Richard and he would show me some of my pics straight after (sorry for swearing so much haha) which hugely helped put me even more at ease. I absolutely cannot commend Richard highly enough for his professionalism, creativity and respectfulness. Before the shoot, I was utterly beyond terrified. This was not something I’d ever done before, nor had thought I ever would be able to do – literally turned up already close to tears and very shaken with fear, and about to ruin my mascara! Richard put me immediately at ease through his calm approach, and the second I dropped that gown, the fear vanished too. Within 3 images, I was speechless at how incredible the shots were! This was a monumental milestone for me, and one I am extremely proud of and would love to do again to track my personal body progress.

I had an absolutely amazing and uplifting time today with BarelyLit. I’ve struggled with BDD on and off for a very long time and when I was first asked about this I was apprehensive. Though I’m used to performing and have done a few shoots they’re with people I know and, in all instances, I’ve never been completely naked in a room with a stranger taking photos. Forever grateful for this great experience. The photographer makes you feel comfortable as soon as you step in. The room was warm for a naked woman to stay in and the entire shooting time felt like minutes for the enjoyment of it. A brilliant experience I’d 100% do again.
I walked into the shoot not knowing what to expect and super nervous but Shepy immediately made me feel at ease. He provided great direction for those that don’t know what to do with themselves/those pesky hands and the whole thing felt casual, laid back and fun.
It’s the first shoot I’ve done where I haven’t cringed to look at the images after, and can’t wait for the full set to be ready. Sometimes you just need to see yourself in a different light to give you the confidence bump you need ✨️

Shooting with @barelylit_art was a really positive and enjoyable experience. Throughout, Shepy was completely professional and made me feel at ease from the start, in fact, after a while I almost forgot I was naked! I consider myself a reasonably body confident person, but was surprised at how comfortable I was with the whole process and, after a while, how natural it felt.
I was able to view the shots on the tablet straight after and then I received the first ten edits within 24 hours. I am really pleased with them and looking forward to seeing the other photos.

I was made to feel so relaxed and comfortable. Richard is mindful of modesty and great at advising on poses which create the most beautiful shots. We shot in Prohibition which is a fab central location and provides a low moody lighting and perfect backdrop. Richard is great to work with, highly professional & passionate about his work. I was shown images throughout the session and able to review all images on the iPad before leaving, deleting any I was unhappy with also add as many as I wish to favourites putting them first in line for editing. Later that same evening I received 10 beautifully edited shots. I can’t wait to see the other images and look forward to working with Richard again!

If you’re nervous for this kind of shoot, please leave all worries behind. The shoot was short, the room was dark and I was made to feel very comfortable. Well worth it as the pictures are beautiful.

What an amazing experience !! So empowering and confidence boosting – I had lost a lot of self confidence and self esteem thanks to the joys of menopause at a young age and I no longer felt sexy anymore so wanted to try something completely different and well out of my comfort zone ! And thanks to Shepy, his skills, his compassion and kindness throughout and the beautiful photos he has produced I can now see myself in a totally different light and finally feel sexy again. Total confidence booster.

I had a shoot with Barely Lit and i was super anxious beforehand. Infact i almost cancelled because the idea of this sort of photoshoot was terrifying. Im in my late 30s, not in a shape im happy with and i have severe surgical scaring which i am super conscious about. But i wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone and prove that even a broken body can still be beautiful. As soon as i walked in i was put at ease and got straight into the shoot. The more different lights and poses i was put into the more my confidence grew until i somehow forgot i had no kit on haha. Honestly i am in love with the photos and vouldnt believe it was my body i was seeing in the viewing screen of the camera. At the end of the shoot i was given the option to look through every photo and bin any i wasnt happy with, i was also able to select any i loved and my first 10 edits which i had selected as favourites were with me the very same evening. Amazing shoot! Really made me feel at ease!

Shepy is so professional and made the whole process fun for our group. He encouraged our support of each other which made it enjoyable. It was difficult for me to relax into it so I did a few less shots than the others but I did have some lovely images from it. If you’re not sure about poses, keep it simple and stick to Shepy’s direction – he knows what works. Highly recommended – even from someone as nervous as me!

I have never felt confident being naked as I’m definitely plus size, but seeing some friends who have had this shoot done before I knew I had to do it! If I didn’t then I knew I would regret it. I pushed myself out my comfort zone and went for it. I can honestly say Sheppy made me feel so at ease and relaxed and he would chat away to me while snapping to calm my nerves. He was so patient with me especially directing how he wanted me to pose, as I am a complete novice. As a plus size girl I find it hard to feel beautiful in body pics never mind naked ones, but I came away from the shoot feeling beautiful and confident and more importantly I came away loving my body with all its curves all thanks to Shepp.

As someone who’s always hated having my photo taken, I was thinking ‘why am I actually doing this??’…but I’m so glad I did. Shepy was so laid back and friendly I instantly felt at ease. If you’re in two minds, go for it!

Loved doing this and so glad I dared to bare. I was obviously nervous to start with but it was such a great experience, I was grateful for all of the direction during the shoot as I had no idea what I was doing. The pictures are so amazing. I went for my photo shooting with Barely Lit the other day and must say I was very impressed how relaxed and comfortable Shepy made me feel at the full process the pictures look so beautiful and even tho you’re nude but with the shadows covering all your essentials they still look very discreet

My friends encouraged me to take part as they loved the experience and it left them feeling empowered. I would definitely do this again and I recommend you too. The intricate shadow designs are beautiful! Shepy was very respectful and even turned whilst I moved positions. I did forget I was nude! The photos were amazing and Shepy really does have an eye for shadow placement that takes the photo to the next level.

Felt so at ease the whole process, “the first 10 seconds are the scariest” was the truest piece of advice I’ve ever been given… but it was an absolute blast and such a confidence boost like I’ve never had before!

I was curious when I first heard about Bately Lit, and had in mind that I really wanted to do this as I have many scars, 2 stoma bags and a feeding line in my chest. Never done anything like this ever, but when the time came to go naked, I was only slightly nervous but it felt so liberating and when shown first pic just on the view of camera I was overwhelmed and felt really good. It was just me and my friend who booked it for me as a gift from her, and I wouldn’t have done it with anyone else. The photographer was a really lovely man and I absolutely love my photos. I am really pleased. I would recommend whether you have the perfect figure or little imperfections to big scars, all our bodies are unique and this is a great way to artistically show them off or just keep pics for yourself I am so pleased with mine and that my friend thought of me to do this with her.

Thanks again to Shepy for coming all the way to our studio and making us all feel so at ease. The shoot was such an enjoyable experience. We are so happy with the photos and cannot recommend this experience enough to others. Such a confidence boost 💪

I had such a lovely experience doing the shoot, I had never done a professional photoshoot before and I was nervous to go but it’s something I really wanted to do because it’s a great opportunity and fun, I didn’t want to let my body insecurities get in the way! Shepy made me feel very comfortable and at ease throughout the entire process! I would recommend doing a shoot to anyone!

I was naturally apprehensive to begin with, but I was soon made comfortable as everything was explained beforehand, plus I was treated with respect and dignity throughout!

I was reminded that many women had been models with or without experience, the majority with zero such as myself. I soon felt at ease knowing that Shep had seen it all!

I did the shoot for me, to overcome body confidence issues, but felt part of something bigger knowing so many women had done the shoot too and we are all faced with unrealistic beauty standards but wanting to change that!

Initially I was very nervous. However, after a few minutes I had nothing to worry about and felt very comfortable. The setting is dark, which somehow made it easier to relax. Just do it. You will feel great and liberated afterwards.

The shoot was a great experience! You don’t need any previous experience and you don’t need any ideas of what poses you will need to do as you are walked through the whole shoot. Of course if you have specific ideas then go for it! Shepy uses different filters on the light so you get a range of images. You also get to fully vet all the pictures so you can go into it with no worries. If you are thinking about doing it, then go for it!

I’ve only started in the last year doing implied nude. I was quite nervous but Shepy was a gentleman from the beginning so I quickly felt comfortable. Whether im butt naked or slightly clothed Sheppy always makes me feel comfortable when we shoot together.
He has that great balance between being proffessional and also having a laugh.
I really enjoyed rolling around the floor playing with shapes and shadows. It was an absolute blast and it really did boost my confidence and self esteem.

Being registered blind I had absolutely no idea what to expect.

I was confused as to what the shoot actually looked like in terms of projections shadows and patterns but it was all explained to me in great detail at the beginning and throughout the entire shoot.

This led to me feeling completely comfortable and understood.

It was entirely accessible and inclusive for me as a blind person.

I was quite nervous when the time came to undress and get in front of the camera, but after a few shots and a bit of Shepy’s banter, I was put at ease and felt more comfortable. I have always really struggled with body image, more so in recent years due to weight gain, and cringed at the thought of seeing a photo of myself naked. Shepy’s photos allowed me to see myself in a different light (literally) and I look pretty damn good.

After chaperoning a friend of mine for their shoot I immediately signed up to do my own! How could I not after seeing the passion Shepy puts into this project and the results are exquisite. Being a nude model was never something I thought I’d have the confidence to do but the shoot was so fun and relaxed the time sped by and I came out feeling fantastic. I signed up on a whim after some friends of mine got photographed. I had a rough idea of what shoot day would be like (the info sheet and progress page are so helpful!) but I was incredibly nervous! I never thought I would say being naked infront of a strange man was one of the most empowering experiences I’ve ever had, but it absolutely was. You do forget you’re naked fairly quickly (although I have no idea how!) and at no time did I feel vulnerable or uncomfortable. Then the photos- oh my goodness. Anyone that knows me knows that I am never without words, however Shepy has left me absolutely speechless! I’ve actually had to remind myself they’re REALLY of me. I don’t know how he does what he does, but the shadow choices and placement of them is one of the most beautiful and tasteful things I’ve ever seen. To say he’s talented would be an understatement. I would HIGHLY encourage everyone to take part – irregardless of age, shape or size. It’s the most magical experience!

I as a curvy plus sized model, I can sometimes feel a little self conscious during nude shoots, however I felt completely at ease and comfortable with Shepy!

The entirely Barely Lit experience was so comfortable, rewarding and empowering. In my late 30s I’d never done a nude shoot before and had to be mindful due to my job. Shepy took this into consideration, providing a safe, welcoming and supportive environment. He offered suggestions, built up my confidence and provided great chat and comfort along the way. The shoot was absolutely amazing, my friend came with me and ended up signing up to do it herself afterwards. The pictures are so beautiful and Shepy was absolutely lovely, he made me feel really at ease and his directions were clear.

I’ve shown my photos to most of my office (whether they wanted to see them or not haha!) And a couple of the girls are also planning to sign up themselves.

The photos make you feel beautiful, regardless of body type, what Shepy does is absolutely amazing.

I’d never done modelling of any kind before, but wanted to do this for the experience. The photographer was amazing and made me feel at ease, showing me the shots often throughout.

I cannot stress enough what an amazing experience this shoot was. As someone with really low body cofidence this was 100% out of my comfort zone and a challenge I set myself. However….the nervs just vanished as soon as i walked into the shoot. Shepy was so chill, relaxed and professional. As a woman being nude has a huge sense of vulnerability which i just never felt! I completely forgot I was nude and it felt just like any other shoot. Looking at just the preview images…..just wow. They make me feel beautiful, empowered, liberated and just really good about myself.

Always a pleasure working with sheppy, the group shoot was so much fun, and each images is as beautiful as the next!

I had two amazing shoots with Shep. The first time his light smashed on the camera, he still did the shoot using an alternative light but wasnt happy with the quality of the images (they still looked really good to me) so he kindly arranged a second shoot in another venue.

Both times I felt really comfortable, its really dark so you dont feel as exposed.

I would absolutely recommend all woman to empower themselves to get this done. Im so grateful for the stunning photographs. Shep is an incredible photographer. Thank you for this wonderful experience.

Had an absolutely fab experience. I didnt feel too brilliant myself physically but the pictures captured do not reflect that at all, theyre exceptional.
Like most of the girls, I didnt even feel naked, was a very chill session.

Shepy is mint, effortlessly makes you feel relaxed and comfortable being naked (if thats not something youre used to!) to the point that its easy to forget youve nothing on.

What can I say, this was a spur of the moment decision hitting middle age does funny things to a person. I arrived to the shoot the most nervous I’ve ever been however I was instantly made to feel at ease
The shoot was dark and not at all what I expected so any flaws weren’t on display the little rolls and cellulite we all have was masked
I was viewing shots on the camera throughout and was able to see them all straight after and eliminate any I hated.
I have come away feeling truly liberated and more confident than I’ve felt in my whole life

If your in two minds just do it you honestly won’t regret a minute

If you’ve ever thought about doing a nude shoot but were unsure do it, but do it with Richard Shepherd for barely lit art. I snort laughed the entire time because he made me feel so at ease.
I usually always hate pictures of myself and pull them apart, not these ones, they look beautiful I actually look beautiful and the felt the farthest from my usual swamp donkey self.
The patterns used are amazing and I liked hearing how and why the project started and how it’s progressed.
11/10 would do again if I had the opportunity it was an amazing experience and I’m really grateful to be a part of this.

Before shooting I was a little bit anxious before coming in due to never doing something like this before. All that anxiety immediately went away after talking to Shepy! Its a very laid back atmosphere that helps put you at ease that gets followed by amazing photos at the end! This was my first ever photo shoot and I was pretty nervous in the run up. I’m not always the most positive about my body and the idea of being naked in a room with a stranger with nothing to hide/cover the parts of my body I don’t like was pretty daunting. But from the moment I stepped into the studio Shepy made me feel so comfortable.

He was so professional, friendly and respectful and eased all my anxieties from the moment he introduced himself.

I’m not going to lie I was also nervous about doing a shoot that was focused around shadows and in monotone due to being dark skinned and bad experiences with photos before. What I really appreciated was that Shepy had taken the time to consider how he was going to make the photos work in a way that complimented my skin tone and that shows in how the photos came out.

I had sweaty palms when I expressed an interest in shooting, and my only regret is not having applied sooner.

I was naturally a little nervous before the shoot and expressed worries I had about my own body insecurities which soon disappear after the first few test shots.

I didnt really know how to feel arranging the shoot; growing up conservative and having some traumatic experiences I didnt know how Id cope with being naked in a studio, with a stranger. But it couldnt have gone better. I was made to feel so comfortable, and within minutes forgot I was naked. The shoot was so fun within itself with loads of giggles. The whole time I felt so in control and empowered, could not recommend more!

A friend talked me into signing up with her and I was really nervous before going along for my shoot. As soon as we arrived we were made to feel completely at home and comfortable. The whole experience was amazing and very liberating, I felt totally in control at all times and was more than happy to participate. Utterly discreet and professional throughout and I can’t tell you how much I love my pictures, I’ve spent years thinking how I don’t look as good as I did 5/10/15 years ago and now at 46 I’ve captured myself ready to look back on in later years. I absolutely loved my photoshoot with Shepy for this project. Id seen the barelylit_art instagram & thought the images were just beautiful, and I wanted to take part myself. It can be very challenging to undress and be photographed, and I feel like Shepy really understands that, and has thought through every detail to make sure the whole experience feels safe & comfortable. I didnt feel exposed, the atmosphere Shepy creates allowed me to lose myself in music and movement. I liked that I was able to easily discard any images I didnt like in the preview process, and Im THRILLED with the resulting images!

Great private space to get changed and big space to move around when doing the shoot.

Offered a drink on arrival, made to feel very welcome and comfortable straight away. Shep led the whole thing for me, told me which way to sit/ to move which made me feel much better as I wouldn’t of had a clue otherwise.

Shepy is such a lovely photographer to work with, during a time in my life where my confidence was rock bottom, my body was no longer mine. With our maternity shoot, he made me feel beautiful and really gave a new light to the difference that my pregnancy has made to my body.

After seeing the Barely Lit instagram pictures I was inspired to take part. At 37 weeks pregnant this was the perfect way to document my pregnancy. I haven’t modelled before, and a nude shoot was totally out of my comfort zone. Shepy really put me at ease and was chatty throughout the shoot. The preview pictures are amazing – Shepy really captured my pregnancy curves making me feel feminine and empowered. I would highly recommend as a maternity shoot with a difference, and for other ladies wanting to push out of their comfort zone.

Loved taking part in the Barely Lit project last night with Shepy, he made me feel so comfortable considering this was a nude shoot. I am absolutely over the moon with the preview, I can’t wait to see the rest of the photos. I would highly recommend taking part in any shoot with Shepy but this art project is just amazing!

Amazing experience felt so comfortable very professional and laid back

This was my second photoshoot with Shepy, but my first nude shoot so I was feeling a little nervous. Also being 9 months pregnant I wasn’t really feeling myself as it was. Just like the last shoot, Shepy was very professional and friendly and made me feel completely at ease. The studio was clean and warm which also made for a comfortable shoot. Any correspondence I have had with Shepy surrounding the shoot has been friendly and he has always ensured I know everything I need to know. Very thorough at all stages. Can’t recommend enough to anyone wanting to try something a little bit out of their comfort zone. Can’t wait for the next shoot.

I really enjoyed my shoot with Richard, started off easy to get warmed up, everything was talked about prior/during and the end results look fab! Would definitely recommend to anyone for a confidence boost, to try something different or to see themselves in a different light…

Richard is a wonderfully creative photographer and has developed a style of nude photography which is really unique and beautiful. I felt 100% comfortable at the photo shoot as he is very respectful but also experienced to be able to bring out the best shots and poses. I’d highly recommend every woman have some of these pictures for herself. They really are stunning.

Sheppy was incredibly professional and down to earth. I immediately felt comfortable during my shoot. Barely Lit has been an amazing experience for me. I had always toyed with the idea of doing a nude shoot, and Richard’s wonderfully tasteful and artistic images seemed an excellent place to start. The man is a consummate professional, and made getting my kit off for the first time a comfortable, relaxed and fun experience. It felt completely normal! He made sure I was warm, walked me through everything that was happening and why and generally put me at ease. The images produced from our session are absolutely beautiful, I’m over the moon. It’s something I’ll treasure for a very long time. All round a perfect experience. If you’re thinking about doing it, what are you waiting for!?!?

Shepy made me feel comfortable from the start and talked me through the process and how the photos are different to how he edits then. Shepy asked throughout any ideas I had and showed me some of the photos on his camera where he was pleased with them. I received the photos later that day and the rating system is great and really easy to use. I was really happy that I could decide which images were used and that when Shepy has done some more edits, I can again decide which are published or not. I would recommend a Barely Lit photoshoot to any of my friends.

I had a lovely time during the shoot earlier today, it was my first one in years and first ever nude in a studio! I was a little nervous at first but felt at ease once I got there. Shepy was very professional throughout and helped a lot giving directions on poses. He is very easy to talk to and discuss ideas also. I am absolutely over the moon with the photos I seen during review straight after the shoot. Even more so the edited previews. Such a huge confidence boost! I recommend anyone who is thinking about applying for the shoot to just go for it! So glad I did.

Though I’m not a professional model I have done many photo shoots as so many of my friends are photographers – I very rarely have worked with someone I hadn’t met before or didn’t know in person – and nude!! So I was a bit apprehensive about this shoot as it was a bit out of my comfort zone. In dealing with Richard in the lead up to the shoot I definitely got the impression that Richard was a true professional and had everything covered – he was really helpful in explaining everything from what to expect to what the process would be.
As soon as I arrived at the studio I found Richard to be personable, professional and helpful. As a photographer he is one of the best I have worked with. He is extremely directive which is always what you want as a model – he really knows how to explain little movements to get the best out of you and your poses.
The process after the shoot where you go through each picture and rate which ones you like and which you don’t is very good, very effective and gives you total peace of mind.
I received some finished pictures the same evening as the shoot and was honestly bowled over with them. As a model it was great to see the results so quickly and I was so pleased with Richard’s work.

Working with Shepy on the Barelylit art project was such a wonderful experience.
I was incredibly nervous beforehand as this was my first nude photoshoot. Upon entering the studio and meeting Shepy,  I immediately felt comfortable and started to relax. Shepy was very professional and gave clear direction to capture the best shots. He has a great eye for natural poses fitting with the different shadow filters to create the most beautiful images.

The collaborative aspect of the shoot was really empowering. It was important to me to have full control over the final images with regards to privacy and anonymity. Shepy is incredibly respectful and understanding of any requests to make this experience perfect for each individual.

Being a part of this art project has instilled confidence in my body which has not always been an easy thing to obtain. The whole experience and the final images made me feel beautiful, liberated and empowered.
I would highly recommend working with Shepy and absolutely loved every moment of the shoot.

Since I first spotted Barely Lit I was instantly attracted to the style. I loved the look and had the usual thoughts of how lovely the models looked and how I’d completely ruin any attempt at Barely Lit.

Cue Shepy with his relaxed approach and amazing eye for a shot. He asked if I’d be interested and I agreed right away and I’m so pleased I did! It was sorely tempting to opt out of the shoot when 2wks before it I’d lost none of the weight I’d promised myself and attended zero of the gym sessions I wanted to!

On the day I rocked up and was put right at ease straight away. Shepy is so amazing at just making things pretty! Everything done with thought and precision and he handled all the extra pounds and boobage like a star.

Couldn’t be happier with the results, the only thing that could have possibly made it better would be unlimited time!

If you’re even slightly curious I would 100% recommend getting signed up!

What a fantastic shoot! This type of shoot isn’t anything like previous projects that I have encountered or participated in, and that makes it truly unique. The concept is new and fresh and there’s a great sense of comfort when creating these shots. You have the ability to be free in your movement and expression whilst also knowing that you are tastefully covered in a very artistic way. The end result is very striking, and definitely some of my favourite images to date. It’s seriously cool art!

Initially, I was slightly apprehensive to doing nude photos In front of someone I had never met before, however from the beginning to end of our interactions together, Richard (Shepy) has been very professional and I’d fully recommend his services. He’s amazing at what he does and how to make you feel appropriately comfortable.

I really enjoyed this shoot. Nice open studio, relaxed atmosphere. With nude shoots it can sometimes feel a bit intimidating but I felt completely safe and comfortable the whole time. Good communication with photographer too and photos came back quickly and very tasteful.

I had worked with Richard before on a bath time maternity shoot so I already felt fairly comfortable being in the nip in front of him, but being 2 years post partum and spending most of that time trapped in the house (thanks covid) I was slightly terrified at seeing photos of my ‘new’ body.
I needn’t have worried.
He took some AMAZING photos and worked with me on various poses to make sure I felt comfortable at all times.
Honestly, if you want to fall back in love with your body go and see Shepy!

I thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the shoot, it was empowering, fun and gave me back confidence in my body which had been lost in the last few months. Amazing! I love this art and so was keen to join in but then I got soooo nervous in advance that I nearly cancelled. I am so glad I didn’t. Within minutes I felt totally relaxed and enjoyed it immensely. I love the photos too and love that you get to choose which ones go on the site or not. A very empowering and fun experience.

Had a shoot with Shepy on 01/08/21 and it was such a fantastic experience! I was given excellent instructions on how to find the studio it was so easy to get there.

Now the actual shoot. So yeah its a bit weird at first however Shepy makes it so easy and chilled to do. I definitely forgot I was naked!! Such a great experience, Shepy is very respectful when changing poses and turns away. He gives great instructions and tips for the best pose. Being shown the photos during the shoot is amazing as you can see how awesome they look and gives you so much confidence.

Always a pleasure to work with Richard, consummate professional, friendly, makes you feel at ease and his images are brilliant. I did this shoot at the request of a friend and I’m so happy I did not only does it give me something I can tick off my bucket list but the photos came out truely stunning I couldnt be more happy and the whole experience was so professional and comfortable I would happily do it again.

I felt completely out of my depth before this shoot, I’ve suffered with eating disorders and body dysmorphic disorder all my adult life. When I got to the studio with Shepy, he made me feel so at ease, very comfortable and ready to just throw caution to the wind and say a big F YOU to my insecurities. Shepy even gave me the confidence to post these photos on my Instagram page! I honestly have never felt more beautiful, strong, empowered and proud of myself and I will always hold him high in regards for this. This was my first professional photoshoot let alone my first nude one and I thoroughly enjoyed myself!! I expected to be very nervous about going nude but never once did Shepy make me feel uncomfortable or awkward. He was a complete gentleman. Once he gave a run down about how the shoot would go, the ice was broken and the shoot was underway.

Liberating and fun, with amazing images to treasure afterwards.

It’s not so scary; Richard will make you feel at ease, turn his back whilst you’re ‘manoeuvring’ and you can talk openly about any areas of your body you feel insecure about. If you have not modelled before that’s ok, Richard will ensure you have clear directions to get the best and most flattering shots.

I’ve had two photo shoots my whole life, both with Richard. I chose to go back to him because not only does he capture great shots but he knows how to put me at ease and bring out my confidence. I’ve left both times feeling over the moon with how the shoot went.

I’m so grateful Richard asked me to be a part of this project, as a bigger girl I was slightly nervous to begin with. However Richard was so supportive and helpful the nerves didn’t last long! Absolutely love the photos and can’t thank you enough for letting me be involved!

Richard is a great photographer. This was my first ever studio shoot and he made me feel very welcome and comfortable. He is great at directing the shots and knows all my good angles!

I did a shoot with the Richard at Barely Lit Art in April 2021. The studio was really well equipped and welcoming. Richard instantly made me feel comfortable in his presence and was more then happy to go at a pace I was comfortable with through out the shoot. He was really professional, from making sure my needs were met (how much coverage I wanted) to giving direction on how to pose in order to give the best result. All communication before and after the shoot was outstanding and Richard made sure that I was completely happy with my photos and that I had a clear understanding of release forms. I would highly recommend Barely Lit Art if you are looking for a shoot with a bit of spice. Something different to normal shoots. I’m personally very much looking forward to shooting again with Richard in the not so distant future and working with him to provide photographs for sale.
